Dr. Crystal Redding is a clinical psychologist, licensed in North Carolina and Wyoming. She is a native of North Carolina, growing up in Fayetteville/Ft. Bragg.
She obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Methodist University, an MS in Clinical Psychology from Northwestern State University, and an MA and PsyD in Clinical Psychology from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology in Atlanta.
She completed her doctoral internship and residency at the Wyoming State Hospital.
She trained in areas of college counseling, adults with developmental disabilities, the HIV impacted community, brain injuries and dementia, inpatient severe and persistent mental illness, and pretrial forensic evaluations.
She began her career as a licensed psychologist with the Joint Special Operations Command, where she worked with service members of all branches and their families. She then worked a short stint at a NC max security prison, soon to realize that her calling was working in the community, serving both military and civilians throughout NC. She has served as the clinical director of two offices, mentoring and supervising over 20 clinicians of all licensing boards.
As the owner of Sentinel, she endeavors to provide the community of NC, especially the Garner area, with top tier mental health services. Sentinel was not only created to serve the mental health needs of the community, but to also give fellow clinicians a positive and encouraging place to hone their passion and skill set for therapy.
Dr. Crystal Redding provides individual, couples, and family therapy for ages 16 and above. She is trained in Gottman method for couples, Accelerated Resolutions Therapy (ART) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma, Cognitive Rehabilitation for TBI, and incorporates an eclectic approach with a emphasis on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to all therapy sessions.
As a generalist, she treats a wide array of mental health concerns, including but not limited to, depression, anxiety, life transitions, PTSD, TBI, chronic illnesses, mood disorders, personality disorders, and psychosis.

On a more personal note, she can be found most weekends spending time with her family and giant dog. She might have a slight addiction to reading and loves the peace and quiet of her backyard in the hammock. On occasion she has been known to skydive, kayak, and once upon a time enjoyed ice climbing the frozen waterfalls of Alaska.
